Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed his gratitude to God for helping him overcome the state’s recent political crisis. Speaking at the Christmas Ballad hosted by former Governor Peter Odili, Fubara credited God as the ultimate liberator of the state and its people.
He shared that during the crisis, God gave him a new perspective on leadership, and with the support of the Rivers people, he was able to view the challenges as opportunities for growth. Fubara emphasized that his strength comes from the people, saying, “My strength is drawn from every one of you here. You gave me encouragement; you do the work for me; you make the calls for me.”
Fubara also assured the people of Rivers State that his administration is committed to making each successive year better, with remarkable progress and development. He acknowledged the excitement during the Christmas celebrations as a sign of a brighter future ahead.
The event was attended by notable figures, including former Minister of Transport Abiye Sekibo and Justice Mary Odili, who presented gifts to Fubara and his family. Sekibo praised Fubara for blending Odili’s leadership style with his own, successfully steering the state’s governance and making the people proud.
